Private Full-day Dhow Cruise to Mnemba Island reef for Snorkeling

This is one of our must-do activities that you will not want to miss while you are in Zanzibar where you will get a chance to Cruise with a traditional Dhow from the North West Coast of Zanzibar (Nungwi) to Mnemba and snorkel one of the best coral reefs in Africa.

On this trip, there is a 90% chance that we might see dolphins while cruising from Nungwi to Mnemba, once we see the dolphins we will stop for a while so that you can take photos of them. Also, there is a Sandbank beside Mnemba Island, we might go there after snorkeling when it is low tides.

Mnemba is well known for the excellent clarity of its waters ( for this area of the Indian Ocean) and the unusually prolific and diverse corals and tropical marine life where you can able to see a lot of colorful fishes while Snorkeling.

Itinerary

Nungwi beach

Our activity will start from Nungwi Beach, where you will choose Snorkeling gears (Snorkel Mask and Swimming fins) based on your size. Departure time for the Dhow is exactly 9:00 a.m.

Mnemba Zanzibar

Exactly at 9 a.m, we will start Cruising to Mnemba Island, while on the way there is a high chance (85%) to see the dolphins, we will stop for a while so that you can enjoy seeing dolphins swimming, also you can take photos and videos.

Also, we will drop our Chefs at Muyuni Beach to prepare food for Lunch and then go to Mnemba Island reef for snorkeling, In case you are not a good swimmer, Our Instructor will help you put on a lifejacket, assist you on how to snorkel, and give you all guidance that you will need.

While snorkeling you will be able to see some of these species; Angel Fish, Blue Spotted Rays, Black Snappers, Groupers, Red Tooth Triggers, Flounder, Octopuses, Leaf Fish, Scorpion Fish, Stone Fish, Frog Fish, and lots of Trevallies.

There will be many bottles of water on the boat, it is good to be hydrated while swimming, snorkel so you can drink as much as you can.

If the Sandbank is available (it depends on the tides), we might go to the sandbank, the water around the sandbank it’s so clear and cleanest, it is the best beautiful beach in Zanzibar. It is the best place to relax.

Muyuni beach

After Snorkeling at Mnemba Island reef, we will have a Lunch at Muyuni Beach (North East Coast),

The lunch includes; Rice, Vegetable soup, Tuna Fish, Chapati, Salads, Fruits (Mango, Pineapple, Bananas, etc), and Bottles of water. We also have an option for Vegetarians.

Nungwi beach

After having lunch we will stay for a while to relax and for you to have some more time on the trip then we will go back to Nungwi beach to drop you back at your Hotel/ Accommodation.

Normally we will arrive back to Nungwi at 3:30 p.m (Approx.).
